The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants issued a statement strongly denouncing the recent Israeli aggression on Syria, and Israel’s use of Lebanese airspace to bombard Syrian territory.
The statement warned, “of the consequences of this aggressive behavior and the continued violation of Lebanese sovereignty, in flagrant violation of international law and treaties.”
The Lebanese ministry announced that it would file a complaint to the UN Security Council to seriously intervene to end these ongoing Israeli violations.
Israel had bombarded sites in the countryside of Damascus and the coastal governorate of Tartus on Sunday, killing Syrian soldiers and causing fires.
Syrian television reported that Israeli planes fired missiles at the target sites in Tartus from Lebanese airspace.
