For those of you who don’t know Zaatar w Zeit, it is an urban eatery franchise founded in Lebanon in 1999.
It is a commercial Lebanese company that has 20 branches in Lebanon, as well as branches in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. All in all 70 branches spread around the Middle East.
One of the largest restaurant chains in Lebanon, Zaatar w Zeit has made a name for itself since 1999. Its menu variety is a mix of modern and traditional foods.
Three days ago, Elie Ghobeira, the Marketing Manager at Zaatar w Zeit, announced that they will be opening a new branch in Vancouver.
In an interview with Hospitality News Middle East, Ghobeira stated that they picked Vancouver because it is Canada’s third-largest city, one of the world’s most livable cities, and because of its ethnic mix and food scene.
He went on saying that they are planning to attract everyone, students, tourists, foodies, and not only the Lebanese community.
Ghobeira posted the following on social media: “We landed in Vancouver! And I couldn’t be any prouder! 2 years of hard work and dedication finally come to life. When I joined Zaatar w Zeit 8 years ago, never in my wildest dreams did I think one day I will be standing here pinning this brand I deeply love on the international map, as part of a tremendous team accomplishing this huge milestone.”
He continued saying: “From a bakery to a Lebanese urban eatery and a cultural anthem, and from a small branch in Sodeco to an iconic location in the heart of one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, Vancouver. We did it!”
Zaatar W Zeit’s new location is in downtown Vancouver at 531 Granville Street.
It will open its doors to the public officially on November 30, 2019. Zaatar w Zeit has participated in events in previous years, including the World Mankousheh Day and Last year was the 2nd Annual World Mankousheh Day, making November 2 the World Mankousheh day.
