The UN World Food Programme (WFP) in Lebanon has announced that the government of Japan contributed $3.5 million to help struggling families.
The WFP added that the grant will provide life-saving assistance for vulnerable families who are struggling to make ends meet in Lebanon.
“Japan’s support comes at a critical time for Lebanon, affected by one of the world’s worst economic crises,” added WFP.
The government of Japan has been lending support to Lebanon and the Lebanese people for years, notably providing recently Lebanese youth with scholarships to continue their education.
Back in March 2022, the Japanese government also deployed made-in-Japan solar panels in 122 public schools across Lebanon, to provide them with a much-needed electricity supply to help students continue their education.
