After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from INSEAD, Joe spent several years at Merrill Lynch in Paris. He then joined the Mediterranean Group in Lebanon as the Deputy General Manager of the Bank of the Mediterranean for Investment.
He served as the Chairman and CEO of the Investment House, the investment banking arm of the Saradar Group.
His responsibilities covered a wide range of areas, including portfolio and wealth management, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, real estate investment, as well as the establishment of a family office for investment management.
Among his achievements, Joe Issa Khoury led the first program issued by a Lebanese bank for Eurobond bonds, the first convertible bond issued by a Lebanese industrial group, and the first investment fund issued by a real estate company.
He has held positions on the boards of companies operating in the United States, Europe, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), across various sectors such as fashion, aviation, hospitality, cement, banking, postal services, real estate, ports, agriculture, technology, and investment funds.
Joe is married with two children and holds both French and Lebanese citizenships.
He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and is proficient in Spanish.
He was also the President of the INSEAD Alumni Association – Lebanon Chapter, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Businessmen’s Gathering (RDCL), and the Vice President of the Maronite League.
