The Lebanese actress Natacha Karam is in Netflix’s The Old Guard! Why is this such a big deal? Well for starters, this new hit film stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, and Marwan Kenzari.
And for those who love paranormal and immortality topics with a phenomenal dose of action and thrill, this is your movie!
It is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood who also made Love & Basketball, The Secret Life Of Bees, Beyond The Lights, etc.
The Old Guard, which was released on the 10th of July, is based on the Greg Rucka-written comic series of the same name.
The plot is described on Netflix as follows: “Four undying warriors who’ve secretly protected humanity for centuries become targeted for their mysterious powers just as they discover a new immortal.”
You might have guessed who’s targetting them; the pharmaceutical industry, doing “whatever it takes” to get hold of their DNA for profits.
Spoiler alert: The team won’t go down without a fight nor leave anyone behind! After all, they have centuries of fighting skills in their belts.
Back to our Lebanese actress, Natacha Karam, who plays Dizzy in this movie, is of both French-Lebanese and Northern Irish heritage.
She was born in London, UK, from a Lebanese father and an Irish mother.
Although she has just started gaining recognition for her acting career, Karam was born talented and was climbing her way to the spotlight from a young age.
She got her degree in acting from City Lit college (London) in 2014, after getting her A level certificate from Dubai College in 2012. Natacha began her career based in London.
This actress who got her big break after appearing next to big Hollywood stars in the thrilling CIA-action-packed show Homeland (2017), is also a dedicated athlete and traveler.
Some of the movies and TV series that she appeared/starred in include The Brave (2017-2018), 9-1-1: Lone Star (2020), Casualty (2019), The Hurricane Heist (2018), Valentine’s Again (2017), Silent Witness (2017), and Homeland (2017).
Natacha Karam’s next big achievement will be a starring role in the awaited thrill movie Samaritan, scheduled to be released in December 2020.
