Among winners from Chile, Senegal, Japan, Macau, Ukraine, and the USA, the Lebanese Doctor Adib Jaber received the 2022 Global Golisano Health Leadership Award.
The Global Golisano Health Leadership Awards is the highest Special Olympics honor for health partners recognizing health champions that are working to secure equal health, fitness, and wellness for people with intellectual disabilities.
It is worth noting that Adib Jaber is an ophthalmologist and volunteer who led the recruitment and training of local medical professionals to provide free treatment, including surgery, for people with intellectual disabilities across Lebanon and the MENA region.
In 2020, the Lebanese doctor also received the Golisano Health Leadership Award for his commitment to advancing inclusive health for individuals with a limited ability to learn at an expected level.
