The Lebanese-American weightlifter achieved 3rd place in the weightlifting competition (64 kilos), held in the Turkish city of Konya, marking the 4th medal for Lebanon so far in the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISSF).

This 4th medal for Lebanon followed the medals of Taekwondo players Ward Salman winning a silver medal, and Laetitia Aoun and Tarek Moussally winning a bronze medal each.

Alexa Mina Colwell expressed on her Instagram account that she is the second woman in Lebanese weightlifting history to win an international medal.

“Forever chasing moments like these. What an honor it was. Thank you GOD!!” she exclaimed in gratitude.

It is worth noting that Lebanese-American weightlifter Mahassen Hala Fattouh was the first Lebanese woman to compete in international weightlifting competitions, and the first to ever represent Lebanon in Olympic weightlifting.
