This Lebanese App is Being Called the “Instagram killer” and is Going Viral

Vero is an ad-free application that allows users to share photos, links, music, books, movies, and places with friends.

The app is currently topping the App Store’s ranking of free apps. Also, Vero jumped from 99 to number one in the UK’s App Store in the past week.

Ayman Hariri is the CEO and co-founder of Vero. He is the son of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri. He developed this app to offer users an authentic experience.

This could be Instagram’s new rival since it does not show ads and displays the posts in chronological order. Instagram users have been frustrated recently since the app changed its algorithm to highlight posts that have more likes and comments.

Vero also values privacy. The app lets you share your posts in four designations: close friends, friends, acquaintances, or followers.

“In real life, people are never presented with a one size fits all audience. We share different things with different people. When you can control who sees what, you can behave in a way that is more natural, which we believe ends up being better for you.”

The annual subscription fee will be waived for the first one million users. New users after that will be asked for a small annual fee which will help Vero remain ad-free. Vero is available on the

App Store

and

Google Play
