Lebanese Tinder users have recently noticed a sudden influx of Israeli profiles appearing within the country.
Even people on the Lebanese subreddit confirmed noticing this curious development. Given that Israelis are not allowed in Lebanon, the profiles’ appearance more than 50 km away from the border has left many scratching their heads.
Users report that these profiles appear to be within a 10-kilometer radius of Beirut, suggesting location spoofing.
Comments on the Reddit thread range from speculations about espionage to GPS jamming.
One user even mentioned that similar activities are happening in Egypt. The situation has left many puzzled and concerned.
961 reached out to both Tinder and Bumble for an explanation, but there was no immediate response.
