On Wednesday, Lebanese Army Commander, Joseph Aoun, met with a delegate of the submarine crew, along with naval forces officers and MP Ashraf Rifi to prepare for the extraction of the boat that had sunk in Tripoli on April 24th.
Discussions dwelt on the works of the submarine that is expected to arrive in Lebanon from Spain today, August 17th, and its coordination with the operation rooms established in the Lebanese Naval Forces.
The tragedy that came to be known as the Death Boat resulted in 6 deaths, including an infant girl. The Lebanese Navy ships managed back then to save 48 of the passengers.
