The Lebanese Army (LAF) has announced on Tuesday via Twitter that it has received 5 tons of medical and alimentary products, as a gift from the Czech Republic.

This aid comes three weeks after the Czech alimentary donation to the Lebanese Army, which consisted of 6 tons of alimentary products.

The Lebanese Army is facing financial difficulties as the country is in the midst of an economic crisis, which the World Bank described as one of the world’s worst since the 1850s.

The LAF has been compelled to rely on similar support to keep going with its duties to protect the country as the recent successive governments have failed to tackle the multiple crises.

The most recent support to LAF as well came from the United States in the form of military equipment. The US offered 6 military helicopters valued at over $40 million dollars.

In July, Qatar sent 70 tons of foodstuffs to support the Lebanese Army. In August, LAF received 14 tons of aid from Jordan, as well as 8 tons of food and medical supplies in September.

While 20 nations have pledged back in June to save the Lebanese Army from collapsing, Lebanese industrialists in eastern Lebanon have also stepped up to contribute their support by providing maintenance to the LAF’s vehicles.
