According to MTV, the Central Administration in the Central Bank of Lebanon (BDL) will hold an exceptional meeting today, Friday, June 15th.

MTV claims that in this meeting, BDL will announce that it will no longer accept card payments in “Lollar.”

A “Lollar” is a Lebanese dollar, or a US dollar that is stuck in the Lebanese banking system.

Should this happen, Lebanese people will only be able to pay via cards through Lebanese Lira or “fresh” USD.

This decision has been expected since some supermarkets have already stopped accepting card payments in “Lollar” many days ago.
