The Lebanese Civil Defense has openly stated that they are not equipped to handle the ramifications of a potential war.
In an interview with IMLebanon, General Raymond Khattar, the Director-General of Civil Defense, emphasized that their existing equipment is barely sufficient for current rescue operations.
He also highlighted the challenges they face, such as outdated machinery, fuel shortages, and lack of essential firefighting equipment.
This admission comes amid Lebanon’s ongoing political, economic, and social crises, raising concerns about the country’s preparedness for any large-scale conflict.
