In a statement released by the official Twitter account of the Lebanese Deputy Nazih Najem, it has been confirmed that a theft took place at Najem Group & Co in Byaqout, Matn, on Sunday, March 1st, around dawn.
The offices of the Najem Group & Co in Byaqout were robbed, along with the office of Deputy Nazih Najem, who is the Chairman of the Public Works, Transport, Energy and Water Committee.
The statement did not mention if surveillance cameras were able to identify the robber or robbers or how they were able to surpass security guards at the entrance doors if any.
Even though no official statement revealed what was exactly stolen, the judicial and security services came to the scene to inspect the offices and conduct investigations to arrest the perpetrators.
Deputy Najem thanked the Lebanese security forces and the judiciary for their efforts and attempts in trying to capture the robbers, hoping that these efforts will result in the rapid arrest of the perpetrators.
The chairman also received a series of calls denouncing and condemning the theft that the company’s offices were subjected to, most notably a reassuring call from Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and the head of the Future Bloc, Bahia Al Hariri.
