Lebanese Detained In Nigeria For Conning A Man Of $173,450

65-year-old Lebanese man Ahmad Al-Youssef has been charged in a Lagos Magistrate Court with duping a man of $173,450, which is equivalent to N120,000,000.

According to Police Counsel Amedu Adoga, Al-Youssef conned customer Alhaji Mansur J. Musa by claiming he was a currency exchange agent and wanting to assist Musa to exchange his dollars into Naira, which he would later take for himself.

A three-count charge relating to theft and deception was brought against Al-Youssef before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos Island.

Al-Youssef pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail, amounting to $11,244.64 (N5 million), and he will be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility until the bail requirements are met.
