The Lebanese-French feature documentary film We Are From There (Loin De Chez Nous) with Milad Khawam and Jamil Khawam won yet another award.

This time, it won the “Coup de Coeur Du Jury” prize at the Festival De Cinéma des Cinq Continents (F5C).

The Festival de Cinéma des Cinq Continents is a French-Geneva cross-border festival created in 2005, highlighting the different cultures and the diversity of audiences.

The documentary, directed by Wissam Tanios, revolves around two young Syrian brothers who are full of hope, and one day, they decide to leave their torn country to find a new life in Europe.

They leave everything behind except their love of life, determination, humor, and desire for a better and brighter future. However, Wissam, their closest cousin, decides to film their wanderings and their questioning of the very meaning of “home.”

We Are From There is produced by Christian Eid, Abbout Production (Production Director), and Gabrielle Dumon, The Bureau Films (Executive Producer).

The feature documentary previously won many awards, including the Best Non-Fiction film Award in the Horizons of Arab Cinema Competition and the best Arab Film Award at the Cairo International Film Festival.

We Are From There is currently playing in the theaters in France, and here is the trailer:
