Lebanese Short Film ‘Echoes’ Won Best Screenplay At The Casablanca Arab Film Festival

The Lebanese short film Echoes won the Best Screenplay award at the 3rd edition of the Casablanca Arab Film Festival, which was held Between October 14 and October 18, 2022.

The story is told through a single window frame and focuses on the history of two generations in Lebanon unfolding around family dynamics. But the question is: “will they repeat their history?”

The short film is starred by Rea Gemayel, Ayman Hamawi, Joseph Daaboul, and Jean-Paul Obeid, produced by Skylantern Productions and directed by Julien Kobersy,

Julien Kobersy is a Lebanese director with a Master’s degree in cinema and filmmaking from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts of Balamand University.

His master’s graduation short film Afif won the public vote award at the 8th NDU international film festival, and his recent film Echoes also won the Best Short Film at the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival in the Netherlands.
