The Minister of Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Halabi, chaired an administrative and educational meeting, which included the Director General of Education Imad Al-Ashkar and the heads of the administrative units in the ministry.

The meeting discussed the administrative, logistical, and financial preparations for the upcoming school year, including the appointment of principals, raising spending ceilings from school funds, and increasing contributions to parental council funds.

Al-Halabi gave directions for centrally conducting school insurance by soliciting accurate offers. As well as conducting a central solicitation of offers to purchase diesel and distribute it to schools.

Al-Halabi held another meeting with the Higher Education Council to deal with the recognition of university students’ graduation and their certificates.

Some universities haven’t yet responded to the observations recorded by the specialized committees, which has been delaying issuing the certificates.

The issue of Lebanese students who were studying in Ukrainian universities and had to flee back to Lebanon was also tackled.

Al-Halabi contacted the Ukrainian ambassador to follow up on the issuance of documents and testimonies belonging to these students so that they could continue studying, especially since many universities were seriously damaged or destroyed in Ukraine.
