Lebanese Energy Minister Walid Fayyad stressed that his ministry is keen that queues at gas stations do not return, and it is working to launch a platform that announces fuel prices daily, at which point there would be no need to issue price tables.
“We succeeded in stopping random subsidies in the fuel sector,” Fayyad said, adding “I spoke from the beginning about the need to direct support, specifically to the public transport sector, and the exchange rate must be unified.”
He pointed out, in a statement to MTV, that his ministry’s “goal is to facilitate people’s lives and secure diesel and gasoline at the best possible prices.”
