The two childhood friends, Marc Atiyeh and Andrew Malek from Beirut have always shared a love for pets and worked until they founded an online vet clinic for pets.
Atiyeh and Malek launched their online clinic Pawp in September 2020, transforming how pet parents afford their pets’ health care. They are afforded text or video calls with vets 24/7 and online prescriptions for pet meds.
Andrew Malek and Marc Atiyeh, 27 and 29 years old respectively, both graduated in electrical and computer engineering from Harvard University.
They dedicate themselves to veterinary care and were also featured on Forbes’ 2022 30 Under 30 list in the Consumer Technology category.
According to Forbes, their platform raised $16 million from the likes of Lux Capital, DCM, and Digitalis.
Marc Atiyeh, who is himself parent to 2 dogs, Chelsea and Fluf, had served as the CSO of Clarity Money (Acquired by Goldman Sachs) where he focused on the growth in User Acquisition, and Operations.
Before joining Clarity Money, Atiyeh was also the Head of Growth at Paribus, where he saw the growth of the company from 10,000 users to almost 1,000,000 in one year, and currently advises Nuvocargo and Cushion.ai.
Andrew Malek, the CTO at Pawp, is also a former Associate Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs and an iOS Software Engineer at Clarity Money.
Currently, the two Lebanese are now making headline after headline for their brain-born startup that is revolutionizing the pet-health sector.
