The head of the Lebanese Table Tennis Federation, Georges Copali, has been elected Vice-President of the West Asia Table Tennis Union.
Copali’s appointment came during the elections for the Union’s new administrative committee that took place on Wednesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where Copali represented the Lebanese Table Tennis Federation.
Prior to becoming its president around 3 months ago, Georges Copali had spent a decade taking on various positions at the Lebanese Table Tennis Federation.
In 2012, he became a member of the Federation’s administrative body, which he remained until his appointment as its Secretary-General in 2016.
The excellence he had shown in his previous administrative roles earned him the Federation’s presidency in December.
Copali has had a passion for sports all his life; a passion that his father Elie, the celebrated founder of the illustrious Racing Club Beirut football club, contributed to instilling.
He has experience playing football, basketball, as well as table tennis, and he continues to go mountain climbing on a regular basis.
