Out of thousands of projects from several countries, the founder of the Lebanese National Theatre, actor, and director Kassem Istanbouli received the Intercultural Achievement Award (IAA) in Vienna, Austria.
The Intercultural Achievement Award is an Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs project and honors innovative projects in the fields of intercultural and interreligious from Austria and around the world.
The award is open to all those who can identify and make use of opportunities that positively affect intercultural co-existence and rewards those who successfully can master a specific challenge via intercultural action.
Kassem was awarded for his Arab Culture and Arts Network (ACAN) project, which aims at providing a network of individuals and cultural and artistic institutions with cultural exchange in the Middle East.
