Lebanese Maronite Patriarch met Saad Hariri today

The Lebanese Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al Rai

arrived yesterday to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

. It’s the first time that the kingdom invites a church leader, unlike Christian politicians who visit the kingdom often. Despite rumors, the Patriarch did not remove his cross during the visit. Pictures are emerging show him wearing the sizeable gold cross. Today, the patriarch met the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. During the meeting, the importance of the role of different religions and cultures in promoting tolerance was emphasized. The patriarch also met the Prime Minister Saad Hariri today. Hariri confirmed once more that he will come to Lebanon in a few days.

President Michel Aoun

warned

that anything Hariri says while in Riyadh should be doubted since he might be under pressure. We do look forward to his return to Lebanon for the most reliable information.
