Two Lebanese Movies Will Participate In The 2022 Master International Film Festival

The 1st edition of the Master International Film Festival (MIFF) will be held from June 4 until June 11, 2022, at the Medina Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia.

21 countries will be participating in the 2022 MIFF, including Lebanon, Tunisia, Syria, Egypt, France, Italy, Russia, and others.

Lebanon will participate in the awaited Master International Film Festival with the following two movies:

Beirut Hold’em – Michel Kammoun – Thursday, June 9

Freshly out of prison, Ziko is now ready to start a fresh new life by trying to win back Carole and planning to open a gambling joint.

After reuniting with his old friends in Beirut, he gets to know that his brother died in an illegal motorcycle race and then tries to save his brother’s friend from the same fate.

Driven by the powerful, and sometimes relentless willpower to succeed, Ziko starts his journey in post-war Lebanon surrounded by violence and tension.

Beirut Hold’em is directed and written by Michel Kammoun, produced by Sabine Sidawi, and co-produced by Georges Schoucair.

It stars Saleh Bakri, Said Serhan, Fadi Abi Samra, Issam Bou Khaled, Ziad Seaibe, Rita Hayek, and Rana Alamuddine.

The Anger – Maria Ivonova – Friday, June 10

The Anger follows the story of Ida, a young Lebanese girl who flees her village and her alcoholic mother and goes to the big city where she starts dating a European man, not knowing what is going to happen with her.

The psychological drama first world premiered at Carthage Film Festival (JCC) and was showcased at Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF).

The Anger is directed by Maria Ivanova Z., who co-wrote it with Olga Artemyeva, and stars Lebanese Manal Issa, Aurélien Chaussade, Houssam Sabbah, and Julia Kassar.
