Rahal Global News

The mayors of the Hermel district held a meeting at the office of the Union of Hermel Municipalities with the deputies of Baalbek-Hermel and other local officials to discuss the security chaos in the district.

In attendance were the deputies Ghazi Zuaiter, Ibrahim al-Moussawi, and Ihab Hamadeh, as well as representatives of the national and Islamic parties.

The invitation to the meeting included the representatives of the security services yet the latter did not attend, according to a statement released by the mayors expressing their surprise in that regard.

The attending officials agreed during the meeting to call for a sit-in in front of the government palace in the city of Hermel, accompanied by a general closure.

They called for revealing the perpetrators of the recent heinous crime against Hajj Ahmed Al-Tala and bringing them to justice to receive the maximum penalties.

It was also agreed on other steps “to be announced at the appropriate time.”
