The Lebanese Parliament Just Failed To Elect A New President For The 7th Time In A Row

The Lebanese Parliament met on Thursday to elect a new President, but as in previous sessions, the election failed to elect a new president.

Here are the results for the 7th session:

  • White ballots: 50 votes
  • MP Michel Mouawad: 42 votes
  • “New Lebanon”: 8 votes
  • Issam Khalifeh: 6 votes
  • Ziad Baroud: 2 votes
  • Badri Daher: 1 vote
  • 1 canceled vote

Lebanon’s parliament speaker Nabih Berri then set, once again, a new date for the next session, which will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
