The presidential election scheduled for today has failed to elect a Lebanese president for the fifth time due to a lack of quorum in the second round.
The session’s results are as follows:
- MP Michel Mouawad: 44 votes
- White ballots: 47 votes
- “New Lebanon”: 7 votes
- Issam Khalifeh: 6 votes
- Ziad Baroud: 1 vote
- Ziad Hayek: 1 vote
- “For Lebanon” 1 vote
- 1 cancelled vote
- Total voters: 108 deputies.
Lebanon’s parliament speaker Nabih Berri then adjourned the next session for November 17, 2022.
