The General Directorate of Lebanese General Security (DGSG) announced on Wednesday the amendment of fees for issuing Lebanese passports.
The new decree has been determined in the implementation of Law No. 10 dated 15/11/2022 (the General Budget Law for the year 2022).
The amended fees are now as follows:
- 5 years: 1,000,000LL (instead of 600,000LL)
- 10 years: 2,000,000LL (instead of 1,200,000LL)
The new fees will be applied as of the date the law goes into effect.
Back in January 2022, the DGSG launched an online platform allowing Lebanese citizens to take an appointment to renew their passports or to request a new one.
This move came after thousands of Lebanese rushed to request a passport or renew theirs at the beginning of the economic crisis, resulting in many waiting in queues for hours for passport procedures.
