The latest version of the Henley & Partners passport index was released on January 11th and the Lebanese passport was ranked very low again, taking the 102nd position for the second year in a row, and similar to the ranking of Sri Lanka and Sudan.
According to the ranking, holders of a Lebanese passport are allowed visa-free entry to 41 countries.
25 of these countries require a visa on arrival, and/or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter Sri Lanka. Thus, Lebanon can only access the following 16 countries entirely visa-free:
- Cook Islands
- Macao (SAR China)
Henley & Partners passport index based its ranking from the data of the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) for 199 countries to 227 travel destinations.
The following countries precede Lebanon:
- North Korea
- Palestinian Territory
Japan and Singapore hold first place in the Henley & Partners passport index 2022, followed by Germany and South Korea in 2nd place, and Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain in 3rd place.
