Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati issued an administrative memorandum No. 21/2022 requiring the closure of public administrations, institutions, and municipalities on the occasion of Ashura and Assumption Day.
The memo stated the following:
According to Decree No. 15215 of 9/27/2005 and its amendments, which define holidays and official occasions.
All public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities will be closed on Tuesday 9/8/2022 on the occasion of Ashura.
All public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities will be closed on Monday 15/8/2022 on the occasion of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
