The awaited Miss Lebanon ceremony officially took place on Sunday evening, crowning the 20 years old Yasmina Zaytoun, as Miss Lebanon 2022.
However, even if the ceremony ended, Lebanese social media users did not fail to sarcastically comment on many occurrences during the event, including the Q&A.
The most talked about answer goes to Lara Hraoui’s genuine comments describing her hometown Baskinta.
The third runner-up did not hesitate to show her love for her hometown, describing many times it offers from cherries and apples, and its history and philosophers.
Yet, the now-known as “the Baskinta girl” took all those comments with pride, even changing her Instagram and Twitter bios to “cherries and apples” (كرز وتفاح), and that’s to her credit, despite the ongoing comments.
Here are some more of them:

(Translated: the new geography exams questions will be: “name 5 things in Baskinta”)
Translated: Yes, this is Lara Hraoui, and with pride the daughter of my village, the daughter of Baskinta. Don’t be surprised that Lara only talked about her village because the children of this town “breathe the smell of culture and literature” and she respects her values.
Baskinta is indeed a town to be proud of. It is a Lebanese gem that has stood out through times since home to ancient civilizations to date and is a famous destination for camping, hiking, and nature lovers.
