Locals in a village in the Hasbaya District, in southeast Lebanon, seized a truck mounted with rocket launchers belonging to Hezbollah, on Friday morning.
People in the village of Shoya stopped the truck around the time Hezbollah launched an attack on Israeli military bases. The truck has now been seized by the Lebanese Army.
The army told journalist Sunniva Rose that it had seized a total of 4 rocket launchers following the incident.
Hezbollah‘s rocket attack came in response to airstrikes conducted by the Israeli military on open fields in southern Lebanon earlier this week, the group said in a statement.
The Israeli military has since targeted several areas in South Lebanon with its artillery.
Following the attacks, UNIFIL issued a statement urging all sides to cease fire, describing the situation as “very dangerous.”
At the time of writing, military consultations are taking place at the Israeli Defense Ministry to evaluate the situation.
