The foodie site Eater just shared the list of the 18 best new restaurants in America. Eater’s national critic Bill Addison featured the Lebanese restaurant Maydan on the list for its delicious dishes!
The featured restaurants opened between May 2017 and May 2018 and are found across the country in cities like Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and more.
Maydan is owned by Lebanese-American Rose Previte. She works alongside co-executive chefs Gerald Addison and Chris Morgan.
“Their focus brings welcome attention to a span of the world whose wondrous cuisines remain perplexingly undersung in the United States,” said the food critic.
Bill Addison invites the readers to try dishes “that particularly reflect Previte’s Lebanese heritage” such as muhammara and hindbe.
The critic also mentioned the warm atmosphere that Maydan offers to its customers. “The restaurant’s centerpiece hearth — a blazing fire pit outfitted with grills and two clay ovens for baking delightfully misshapen, floppy-crackery flatbreads — sets a dramatic scene,” he said.
The restaurant serves food that blend Middle Eastern and North African flavors. The owners invite you to feel a sense of wonder, be ready to explore, and enjoy every bite!
