As the crackdown on fuel hoarders and black-market monopolizers continues in Lebanon, Lebanese security forces seized thousands of liters of fuel on Tuesday morning.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced that more than 70,000 liters of diesel fuel had been seized from tanks, tankers, and a junkyard near the Beirut Airport.

The fuel was distributed to hospitals and owners of private generators.

Earlier in the morning, the Lebanese Army announced the seizure of 65,000 liters of diesel fuel and 48,000 liters of gasoline from a warehouse in Zouk Mosbeh.

The fuel was distributed to hospitals and bakeries in the same area, the army said in a statement.

This comes a day after the Lebanese Army seized 400 tonnes of diesel fuel from warehouses in the Riyaq area before distributing the quantity to bakeries, hospitals, municipalities, and farmers.

It also seized 200,000 liters of the same substance during a raid in the Ras El-Matn area.

Later on the same day, the army confiscated an additional 30,000 liters of diesel fuel in an abandoned gas station in Amchite, which it proceeded to distribute to owners of private generators in the town.
