The Lebanese stand-up comic and YouTuber Wissam Kamal is preparing a show in sign language. Eight years ago, Wissam noticed in one of his shows that a deaf girl was laughing at his jokes. He wondered how she could understand what he was saying. Her friends explained to him that she was reading his lips and they were translating the show into sign language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRusQGmATCI At that moment, he decided that he wants to perform a show exclusively for the deaf and hard of hearing. So, he started learning sign language to achieve his goal. This show is the first of its kind in the Middle East! Deaf people face a lot of challenges in their everyday lives such as finding a job or communicating with people. We hope that this initiative will encourage the Lebanese society to be more inclusive.
