Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon is inviting young Lebanese students to apply for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program.
The YES program provides scholarships for high school students aged between 14 and 16 years old to spend one academic year in the United States.
Each accepted student will get the chance to live with a host family, attend high school, and engage in many activities to learn about American society, acquire leadership skills, and help American students learn about Lebanese culture.
Since 2003, thousands of students, among which 644 Lebanese, have participated in the YES program.
For the coming academic year, the program will welcome 882 students from Albania, Bahrain, Cameroon, Egypt, Gaza, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and more.
To be able to apply for the YES program, the students must be Lebanese or long-term Palestinian residents, enrolled in the Brevet or 1st secondary class, and have strong English language ability. For more info, you can check the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon’s website.
The deadline for the YES program is on Friday, November 18, 2023.
