From living the average life of a Lebanese teen to overnight stardom, 18-year-old Nour Ardakani from Beirut is embarking on a remarkable journey with the global pop brand Now United.
Nour became the 16th member of the band after winning a competition that was held across the MENA region in search of the group’s newest member.
Now United’s founder Simon Fuller, who is known for creating American Idol and forming and managing the Spice Girls, deemed Nour a perfect choice.
For her official debut with the group, she has taken the starring role in Now United’s latest hit, ‘Habibi’, singing the lead vocals in both Arabic and English.
The song received over 2 million views in less than 24 hours.
It is one of the band’s highest-performing music videos and was filmed almost entirely in Lebanon, according to Bernie Karkar of XIX Entertainment.
“It’s amazing to be able to represent the Middle East, especially Lebanon, in Now United,” said Nour.
