In a recent phone call, Milad Al-Alam, the mayor of Rmeish, revealed that the town is preparing for potential conflict by setting up a field hospital.
The hospital will have ten beds and will be accompanied by a dispensary.
Al-Alam noted that the movement of people leaving the area has become sporadic and is primarily directed towards Beirut, where most residents have homes.
He clarified that the initiative is not in coordination with the Lebanese Army or UNIFIL but is a local effort involving the municipality, civil society, and the Lebanese Red Cross in Rmeish.
