Lebanese Nationals Among The Victims Of The Burkina Faso Terrorist Attack

Terrorism took away the lives of 3 Lebanese nationals at a restaurant in Burkina Faso, a country in West Africa. Ahmad Al Bali, Mehsen Fenaiche, and his wife Tammy Chen were in the capital of the country when the terrorist attack happened. In fact, Chen was 3 months pregnant with a baby boy. They were at Aziz Istanbul which is a popular Turkish restaurant that is famous for attracting foreigners. The gun attack occurred on Sunday night. It left 18 people killed and 10 others injured. Also, local authorities have confirmed the death of people from different countries, which are: Canada, France, Kuwait, Lebanon, Nigeria, Senegal, and Turkey. A witness said that two gunmen parked their motorcycles outside, entered the restaurant, and started shooting people with Kalashnikovs. Authorities declared that there were 4 attackers, two of which got killed. In fact, the operation of saving the people who got trapped inside the restaurant ended on Monday at 5 AM. This is not the first time that an attack happens in Burkina Faso. A landlocked country which is one of the poorest nations in the world, the locals of this West African country always face terrorism. Last year in January, an attack happened on the same street in a hotel and a café. It killed 30 people. May the souls of the victims rest in peace. Let’s pray for their families and their loved ones.
