Lebanese Wahida Ghalayini Received the SIDIIEF Recognition Award 2022

After a remarkable career in the medical field, the Lebanese Wahida Ghalayini was the winner of the 2022 SIDIIEF Recognition Award, among other winners from France, Switzerland, and Canada.

Ghalayini graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Lebanese University (LU). She also holds two Master’s degrees from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the ESA Business School.

As the Director General of the Rafic Hariri University Hospital in Beirut, this recognized Lebanese nurse implemented a strategic management culture.

In 2017, she participated in the establishment of a partnership project between the hospital and the International Committee of the Red Cross to ensure access to care for the most disadvantaged people, especially Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, she collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in training hospital nurses in the care of patients with Coronavirus as well as in the application of preventive measures.

In 2021, Wahida Ghalayini also received the Florence Nightingale Medal, an award that honors the most exceptional nurses and nursing aides.

She has now been granted the recognition award by the SIDIIEF, which is a global network of francophone nursing experts from associations, professional orders, healthcare, and educational institutions.
