Throughout the FIBA Asia Cup 2022, Lebanon’s National Basketball team and the Lebanese players stood out remarkably in the championship.

During the Asian Cup, fans around the world saw the captain of the Cedars team, Wael Arakji, leading the competition by scoring 26.0 points per game, and was announced the championship’s MVP.

Along with Arakji, the young Lebanese basketball player Youssef Khayat (Yo-Yo) also played well during the championship and was listed among the promising 21st-century prospects that could lead as an Asia Cup MVP in the future.

FIBA expressed that Khayat, who recently turned 19 years old, had a strong start which is highlighted by a 7-point, 5-rebound outing against New Zealand.

“Expect to see a lot more from Khayat in the future,” FIBA declared, adding that Karim Zeinoun will also “eventually have his moments.”

The 6-foot-8 (approx. 203 cm) forward, Youssef Khayat, is now taking the world by storm, as he will get the chance to raise Lebanon’s flag playing with Michigan Wolverines Men’s Basketball soon!
