Lebanon Records 1,008 New COVID-19 Cases & 42 Deaths

Lebanon recorded 1,008 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Monday, according to the Health Ministry.

In its daily report on the outbreak, the Health Ministry indicated that 42 COVID-19 patients in Lebanon had passed away in the past 24 hours and that 1,977 others underwent recovery in the same period.

In total, Lebanon has registered 6,703 virus-related deaths and 404,149 full recoveries so far, which puts active infections at 87,002.

The cumulative number of confirmed infections in the country currently stands at 497,854, of which 2,670 are healthcare workers, including 2 who tested positive for COVID-19 between Sunday and Monday.

In the same period, 8,756 tests to detect the virus were administered in Lebanon, including 5,267 local PCR tests, 3,194 airport PCR tests, and 295 antigen tests.

As of the time of writing, Lebanon has 1,977 COVID-19 patients in hospital beds, 869 in critical condition in intensive care unit beds, and 254 on mechanical ventilation.

On Sunday, the Health Ministry recorded 2,213 infections and 31 fatalities.
