Lebanon recorded 1,471 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Monday, the Health Ministry said in its daily report on the outbreak.
Between Sunday and Monday, 51 COVID-19 patients in Lebanon passed away and 4,464 others underwent recovery.
In total, 5,808 virus-related fatalities and 347,563 full recoveries have been confirmed since the virus was first detected in Lebanon last year.
This places active infections at 87,643 of the 441,014 total cases registered so far, including 992 critical cases.
Of the total infections, 436,560 were detected locally (1,448 in the past 24 hours) while the remaining 4,454 were detected among inbound travelers at Beirut Airport (23 in the past 24 hours).
According to the report, the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 hotline (1787) has received 162,481 calls to date, including 367 in the past 24 hours.
On the other hand, the 1214 hotline, which is dedicated to inquiries about the COVID-19 vaccine, has registered 37,342 total calls, including 929 in the past 24 hours.
As of Monday, 3,405,461 tests have been administered in Lebanon total, 11,825 of which were administered between Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday, the Health Ministry registered 2,968 COVID-19 infections and 42 fatalities.
