Lebanon Records 1,505 New COVID-19 Cases & 42 Deaths

Lebanon recorded 1,505 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Monday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 42 COVID-19 patients in Lebanon passed away and 2,800 others underwent recovery, the Ministry indicated in its daily report on the outbreak.

In total, 5,422 virus-related deaths and 331,506 full recoveries have been registered in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

Taking these figures into account, Lebanon currently has 83,025 active infections of the total 419,953 cases confirmed so far.

Of the total cases, 2,627 are healthcare workers, of whom one tested positive for COVID-19 between Sunday and Monday, according to the report.

In the same period, 10,183 tests to detect COVID-19 were administered, including 6,729 PCR tests administered locally, 2,910 PCR tests administered at Beirut Airport, and 544 antigen tests.

As of the time of writing, 2,422 patients are in hospital beds across the country, 958 are in critical condition and occupy intensive care unit beds, and 289 are on mechanical ventilation.

On Sunday, the Health Ministry recorded 3,086 COVID-19 cases and 46 fatalities.
