Lebanon Won 20 Medals At The West Asian Youth Championship

Lebanon ranked 5th place in the second West Asian Youth Championship in Athletics for young men and women (under 20 years old), which was held in Lebanon.

With the participation of 9 countries such as Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Palestine, Lebanese athletes scored many medals!

In the details, Lebanon managed to win 20 medals:

  • 6 gold medals
  • 4 silver medals
  • 10 bronze medals

It is worth noting that on the first day, 4 female Lebanese athletes won 4 medals: Mayssa Mouawad (100-meter race) and Yara Rizk (3000-meter race), both won gold medals, Nagham Hassan (3000-meter race) won a silver medal, and Pia Sarkis (Javelin Throwing) won a bronze medal.

On the second day, Lebanon won 9 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze medals).

For the third day, Lebanese athletes continued to collect medals, as Maysa Mouawad succeeded in adding a second gold medal in the high jump, as well as Jana Termos, who also won a gold medal in the 3000 steeplechases.

Lebanon also won bronze medals through the athletes Ali Reda Kanaan (the 3000-meter steeplechase), Mia Malak (the 400-meter race), and Leah Hanna (the 3000-meter steeplechase).

In addition, Lebanon gained bronze and silver medals in the 4x100m relay race for both men and women.
