Lebanon recorded 2,460 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Wednesday, the Health Ministry said in its daily report on the outbreak.
The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Lebanon now stands at 502,299, of which 82,346 are active cases, taking into account that 413,175 patients have undergone recovery and 6,778 others have passed away so far.
In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 40 virus-related fatalities and 1,465 full recoveries.
According to the report, the cumulative number of infections among healthcare workers is currently at 2,670.
In the past 24 hours, 21,713 tests were administered in Lebanon to detect COVID-19, including 17,771 local PCR tests, 2,835 PCR tests at Beirut Airport, 292 PCR tests at border crossings, and 815 antigen tests.
As of Wednesday, there are 1,915 COVID-19 patients in hospital beds across Lebanon, 884 in critical condition in intensive care unit beds, and 231 on mechanical ventilation.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, 7,439 people received the first COVID-19 vaccine dose and 4,643 others received the second one.
So far, the first and second doses have been administered to 212,845 and 110,731 people in Lebanon, respectively.
On Tuesday, the Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed 1,985 infections and 35 fatalities.
