Lebanon Records 2,879 New COVID-19 Cases & 60 Deaths

Lebanon recorded 2,879 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, the Health Ministry confirmed in its daily report.

Of the 324,859 total infections confirmed in Lebanon since the beginning of the pandemic, 105,563 are active cases, as 215,559 patients have recovered from the disease and 3,737 others have passed away.

In the past 24 hours, 60 virus-related deaths and 3,680 full recoveries were recorded in the country.

AUBMC had announced on Monday the establishment of a post-COVID-19 care clinic that provides comprehensive physical and psychological care for people who have recovered from the disease.

The positive cases registered in Lebanon include 2,444 among medical workers, of which 2 were recorded between Monday and Tuesday.

In the same period, 18,571 PCR tests were conducted across Lebanon, including 16,982 local tests and 1,679 others at the airport.

As of Tuesday, 2,285 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment in hospital beds, 911 are critical cases in intensive care unit beds, and 313 are on mechanical ventilation.

On Monday, the Health Ministry recorded 2,063 COVID-19 cases and 61 fatalities.
