Lebanon recorded 3,120 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Wednesday, the Health Ministry announced in its daily report on the outbreak.
In the past 24 hours, 33 people in Lebanon passed away due to COVID-19 while 1,150 others underwent recovery.
With these figures taken into account, Lebanon currently has a total of 6,512 virus-related deaths and 391,359 full recoveries, which puts active infections at 88,047.
In total, 485,918 infections have been confirmed in Lebanon since its first case was detected in February 2020.
The cumulative cases include 2,664 healthcare workers, of whom 2 tested positive for the virus between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the report.
In the same period, 24,488 tests were administered across the country to detect COVID-19.
These include 20,976 local PCR tests, 2,736 airport PCR tests, and 776 antigen tests.
According to the Health Ministry, there are 1,987 cases of COVID-19 in Lebanon that occupy hospital beds at the time of writing, in addition to 875 cases that are in critical condition in intensive care unit beds, and 249 that are on mechanical ventilation.
In the past 24 hours, 7,224 and 3,666 people in Lebanon received the first and second COVID-19 vaccine shots, respectively.
In total, 170,916 individuals in Lebanon have been vaccinated with the first dose, while 95,698 have received the second dose and completed their vaccination.
On Tuesday, the Health Ministry confirmed 2,296 infections and 36 fatalities.
