Lebanon recorded 3,757 coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Thursday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
The Ministry’s daily report on the outbreak indicated that 73 people had passed away in the past 24 hours due to COVID-19 and that 2,642 others had undergone recovery in the same period.
This raises the cumulative number of virus-related fatalities and full recoveries to 5,609 and 337,975 respectively.
As for the total number of infections confirmed in Lebanon since the pandemic reached it in February 2020, it stands at 430,734, of which 87,150 are active cases.
Of the total cases, 2,630 are healthcare workers, of whom 2 tested positive between Wednesday and Thursday, according to the report.
In the past 24 hours, 21,267 tests to detect COVID-19 were administered across Lebanon, including 18,397 PCR tests administered locally, 1,890 administered at Beirut Airport, and 980 antigen tests.
As of Thursday, 2,413 patients are in hospital beds in Lebanon, 956 are critical cases that occupy intensive care unit beds, and 303 are on mechanical ventilation.
The Health Ministry’s data shows that 27,872 people in Lebanon have completed their vaccination against COVID-19, including 5,705 who received their second vaccine shot in the past 24 hours.
On the other hand, the first vaccine dose has been administered to 99,625 individuals in total, including 3,122 between Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Health Ministry recorded 3,544 COVID-19 infections and 62 deaths.
