Lebanon recorded 3,851 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
In its daily report on the outbreak, the Health Ministry indicated that Lebanon has reached a total of 444,865 confirmed COVID-19 infections since the pandemic started, of which 89,792 are active cases at the time of writing.
Additionally, 2,642 of the confirmed cases are healthcare workers, of whom 4 tested positive between Monday and Tuesday.
The total virus-related fatalities currently stand at 5,850 while that of full recoveries is at 349,223. In the past 24 hours, 42 patients passed away due to COVID-19, and 1,660 recovered.
In the same period, 23,462 tests to detect the virus were administered across Lebanon, including 19,937 local PCR tests, 2,376 PCR tests at Beirut Airport, and 1,149 antigen tests.
In total, 3,427,774 tests have been administered in Lebanon since its first case of the virus was detected in February 2020.
According to the report, 2,436 of the total infections occupy hospital beds across the country, 990 are in critical condition and occupy intensive care unit beds, and 295 are on mechanical ventilation.
So far, 111,556 people have been vaccinated with the first COVID-19 vaccine dose (4,822 in the past 24 hours) and 49,190 have received the second shot (6,494 in the past 24 hours).
On Monday, the Health Ministry confirmed 1,471 COVID-19 cases and 51 fatalities.
